Brewers win Atwater Days Tournament
One year after finishing last, the Glencoe Brewers bashed their way to the championship of the Atwater Days Tournament last weekend, thumping teams from Minneapolis and Litchfield.
The wins pushed the Brewers three games above the .500 mark at 8-5 heading into Friday night’s Glencoe Days game against Brownton.
Last week’s slate of games opened with the Brewers suffering a tough loss against Waconia at Vollmer Field on Wednesday, June 14.
The Lakers – currently in the top 10 of the Class C rankings – rallied from a 7-3 deficit after five innings to snare an 8-7 win by scoring five runs over the final four frames.
Mason Goettl went 2-for-4 with a three-RBI double in the fifth inning, while Gannon Jordahl was 3-for-4 with one run scored and another driven in.
