Bright future remains on hold for GSL girls hoop
As evidenced by this season’s 16-13 record, the future is bright for a youthful Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ basketball team.
However, as further evidenced by a season-ending 60-35 loss to Norwood Young America in the Section 2AA north subsection final on Monday, March 9, the future has not yet arrived.
Hopes were high for the Panthers, seeded second in the northern bracket as they took the court against the top-seeded Raiders.
GSL was coming off an impressive second half rally against Jordan to win the subsectional semifinal 68-60 in Prior Lake on Wednesday, March 4. The Panthers had also bested NYA in Glencoe during regular-season play, 56-53, a month earlier.
However, the Raiders proved far too much for GSL to handle on a neutral court – a collegiate court at that.
