Brownton City Council receives audit review for 2015

The Brownton City Council heard the audit review for 2015 at its regular meeting Tuesday night. 
 
Paul Harvego of Conway, Deuth and Schmiesing presented the review to the council. 
 
Harvego said the city is in a good position overall, the same as last year. 
 
The city’s general fund cash balance is $243,537 with a total general fund balance of $321,709. This is compared to last year’s $197, 706 cash balance and $316,709 total general fund balance. 
 
The cash balance means the city has 4.2 months on hand, which Harvego said is toward the bottom of a good range, but better than last year’s 3.6 months.
