Brownton loses to Plato, tops Waconia
The Brownton Bruins earned a split of in its past two games, bouncing back to top Waconia on Memorial Day after being blanked by Plato on Thursday, May 25.
Some defensive miscues on account of the Bruins combined with a bit of timely hitting from the Blue Jays combined to form a 10-0 Brownton loss on a damp night at Barney Tadsen Field.
Plato led 5-0 after two innings and then added five more runs in the later innings as the Bruins suffered their most lopsided loss of the season. Brownton amassed just four hits in the game.
It was a much happier outcome four nights later as the Bruins topped visiting Waconia 7-3.
Dylan McCormick went eight innings for the win, striking out nine batters.
Matt Schwichtenberg drove in two runs, with Taylor Schuette and Nick Heller both going 2-for-3 on the night.
Brownton, now 4-2 this season, hosts Bird Island at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
