Bruins down Carver in CRVL play
The Brownton Bruins earned an 8-2 win over Carver in Sunday’s hot and sultry weather.
The Bruins scored their first run in the top of the first when Taylor Schuette drew a bases-loaded walk to plate leadoff batter Spencer Glaeser, who reached base on an error.
Brownton pulled ahead 2-0 with a run in the top of the fourth as Schuette, who singled, scored on sacrifice bunt by Seth Schuette.
The Black Sox scored the first of their two runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut into the Bruins’ lead, 2-1. Anthony Gross drove in the run on a double.
The Bruins put three insurance runs on the scoreboard in the fifth, with Jason Rosenau driving in two with a well-time single and one scoring on a single by Dylan McCormick.
