Bruins still undefeated after edging Green Isle 3-2 Sunday
The Brownton Bruins are still undefeated as they edged the visiting Green Isle Irish 3-2 Sunday afternoon at home.
The Irish scored a run in the first inning as Zach Herd and Lucas Herd got on base with back-to-back singles. An out later, Mac Zachow grounded out to second base to plate Zach Herd.
Green Isle went up 2-0 with another run in the third. Ach Herd again led off with a single, stole second base, and reached thir don an error, setting up an RBI-double by Brian Scherschlist.
The Bruins quickly knotted the score at 2-2 with two runs in the bottom of the third, with Ryan Grams coming through with a two-out double that plated Deryk Randt and Spencer Glaeser, both of whom reached base on singles.
The tie held until the bottom of the eighth, when Grams walked, rounded the bags on a base hit by Matt Schwichtenberg, and scored on a passed ball.
