Buffalo Lake man injured when spreader overturns

A Buffalo Lake man was injured Tuesday, June 20, when the fertilizer spreader he was driving overturned just northwest of Hector.
According to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Alex Rischmiller, 28, was driving a 2008 Agco fertilizer spreader west on 810th Avenue, about one mile northwest of Hector. Rischmiller veered off the roadway and caught the edge of the ditch, causing the spreader to enter the ditch. It then hit a field approach and overturned.
Rischmiller was not wearing a seatbelt, and was taken by ambulance to the Renville County Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Assisting at the scene were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Hector Ambulance, Hector Fire and Hector Rescue.
The accident remains under investigation.
