Cabin Fever Days set Feb. 19-20

Brownton’s fifth annual Cabin Fever Days celebration is set for Friday, Feb. 19, and Saturday, Feb. 20.
The celebration opens Friday evening with two shows at the Brownton Area Civic Center gymnasium (the former Brownton school). Doors open at 7 p.m., and the first show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Up first will be comedian  Ron Lamprecht, a Brownton High School alumnus.
Lamprecht graduated from Brownton High School in 1988 and is a U.S. Air Force veteran. He has been entertaining crowds coast to coast with his quick wit and self-deprecating style. A regular performer at The Icehouse Comedy Club in Pasadena, Calif., and The Hollywood Improv, Lamprecht also can be seen on ComedyTimeTV and clubs everywhere.
His act has been described as “taking the audience dancing.”
Following the comedy show, there will be a performance by a local country band, 2/3rds Minnesota, which features local musicians Josie Sanken of Brownton and Keenan Dummer of Glencoe, as well as Tyler Stehr and Mary Speerstra.
There is a cover charge for the evening’s activities, and a cash bar will be available.
Mystery dinner
This year’s mystery dinner, featuring a local cast, is “The Balmy Bahamas Cruise,” set on an ocean liner.
A brief synopsis: Tilly Song (a megastar singer) has hired a luxury-plus cruiser to see the Bahamas and have a holiday. She has invited a variety of other famous people to share the lobster. But just as the party is about to start, Karl Virgil, musician and mad-man troublemaker, has been found overboard.
Whodunit? Was it one of the singers, actors, the tennis or basketball star, or one of the others.
