Carol Mae Heldt

Carol Mae (Stuedemann) Heldt, age 75, of Norwood Young America, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with interment following at the church cemetery.
Clergy officiating was Pastor Joshua Arndt. Organist was Jane Holasek. Congregational hymns were, “Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace.” Special music was “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill.
Honorary casket bearers were Carol’s grandchildren and great grandchildren, Nathan Heldt, Dawn McCarthy and Mark McCarthy, Darrin Grack, Michael Heldt, Collyn Catlin, Marshall McCarthy, Brayden McCarthy, Dennis McCarthy and Parker McCarthy.
Casket bearers were Jon Sellnow, David Stuedemann, David Heldt, Kevin Stuedemann, Dallas Stuedemann, Brian Sellnow.
Mrs. Heldt was born on February 27, 1943, in Glencoe. She was the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Dierfeldt) Stuedemann. Carol was baptized as an infant on May 21, 1943, by Rev. H. H. Schaller and was later confirmed in her faith on May 26, 1957, by Rev. Karl Plocher both at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Glencoe. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 111:10. Carol received her education in Glencoe, graduating with the Glencoe High School Class of 1961.
On August 24, 1961, Mrs. Heldt was united in marriage to Dennis Theodore Heldt by Rev. Karl Plocher at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Glencoe. Carol and Dennis made their home in rural Norwood Young America. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Cindy and Darvin. Carol and Dennis shared almost 57 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Heldt worked at Medallion Kitchen in production until retiring in 2007.
She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie where she served on the LWML.
Mrs. Heldt enjoyed embroidering, quilting, gardening and dancing with Dennis. She treasured the time spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Heldt is survived by her husband, Dennis Heldt, of Norwood Young America; children, Cindy Lou (Mitch) Flatgard of Winsted, and Darvin (Paula) Heldt of Lester Prairie; grandchildren, Nathan Heldt, Dawn (Mark) McCarthy, Darrin Grack, Michael Heldt; great grandchildren, Collyn Catlin, Marshall McCarthy, Brayden McCarthy, Dennis McCarthy and Parker McCarthy; brother, Gilbert (Pearl) Stuedemann of Gaylord; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Stuedemann of Plato, Mary Voss of Mankato, Judy Sellnow (Robert) of Glencoe, Margaret Heldt of Lester Prairie; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lillian Stuedemann; brothers, Albert and Earl Stuedemann; sisters, infant Dora Stuedemann, Shirley (Willis) Stuedemann; brothers-in-law, Earl Heldt Sr. and Ortwin Heldt; nephew, Craig Stuedemann.
