CC teams run in Cokato and Duluth

The Glencoe-Silver Lake cross country teams headed out on the road for a pair of meets last week, traveling to Cokato on Tuesday, Sept. 29 and making their way to Duluth for a large weekend meet on Saturday, Oct. 3.

At Cokato’s Collinwood Park for the Dassel-Cokato Invite, the Panther boys placed fourth while the girls took fifth. Megan Siewert was GSL’s top individual finisher with a third-place time of 20 minutes, 45.93 seconds on the 4,000-meter girls’ course. Michael Schaefer took fourth on the 5,000-meter boys’ course with a time of 17:18.29.

Accounting for the boys’ score of 84 were: Tony Fischer, who placed 16th in 18:23.59; Austin Schroepfer, who took 18th in 18:31.69; Joseph Knudten, 22nd in 18:53.27; Michael Meyer, 24th in 19:00.0. Also running for GSL were Oscar Pena, who took 28th in 19:08.79 and Tyler Hausladen, who placed 42nd in 20:00.92.

Following Siewert in the scoring for the Panther girls’ tally of 112 points were: Majkya Metcalf, 19th in 22:49.47; Gia Venier, 21st in 23:03.72; Savannah Stradtmann, 31st in 24:18.02. Also running for GSL were Kayla Deyonge, who took 38th in 25:17.91 and Robin Swift, who placed 43rd in 26:34.14.
