Chamber seeks donations for holiday decorations
To the Editor:
Our Christmas/winter holiday decorations and our blue banners, both of which adorn the light poles along our city streets, have become well worn. The Tourism Committee of the Glencoe Area Chamber of Commerce has determined that replacing these items is our focus for this year.
By partnering with various city departments and leveraging energy rebate programs, we estimate that we have about half of the necessary funds to complete the project. Our local civic organizations and major employers are being contacted with donation requests. And many have already donated! At this time, we are reaching out to you — our local business owners and residents — to also consider making a donation to this effort. All levels of donations are respectfully and greatly appreciated, and are tax deductible as charitable giving!
Our goal is to make this purchase yet this fall, ensuring that the lighted decorations and banners will be ready for installation this winter. If you have any questions about the decorations or banners, please contact the Chamber Office at 320-864-3650. Checks must be made payable to the city of Glencoe in order to receive a tax credit receipt.
Thank you in advance for your donations. We are excited to lead this effort to help give our community a more pleasing and welcoming look all year long.
