Christianson re-elected GSL School Board chair for 2016

The Glencoe-Silver Lake School Board re-elected Clark Christianson as the 2016 School Board chairperson at its organizational meeting Monday, Jan. 11.
Board Member Jamie Alsleben was elected vice chairperson, Board Member Anne Twiss was re-elected as the clerk and Board Member Kevin Kuester was elected as the treasurer.
The board also appointed the 2016 board committees and representatives. The board committee representatives are: Operations (facilities, food service and transportation), Alsleben and Jason Lindeman; Finance, Alsleben and Kuester; Negotiations, Kuester and Alsleben (support staff) and Christianson and Lindeman (certified staff); Personnel, Twiss and Christianson; and Policy, Twiss and Donna VonBerge.
Kuester will serve as the Minnesota State Board Association Legislative Liaison and Christianson will serve as the Minnesota State HighSchool League representative.
Board members also serve as liaisons to the district committees. Alsleben will serve on the Community Education committee, and Christianson on community schools, Field House and Helen Baker K-2 leadership team.
Kuester will serve on the Little Crow ITV Board. Lindeman will serve on the curriculum, Health and Safety committees, as well as the Lincoln 7-8 leadership team.
Twiss will serve on the Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE) committee as well as the Lakeside 3-6 leadership team.
VonBerge will serve on the curriculum, insurance, staff development and technology committees as well as the High School 9-12 leadership team.
Superintendent Chris Sonju and Christianson worked with board members on their committee preferences and schedules when making the appointments.
