Chronicle/Advertiser earns 2 MNA awards
The Chronicle/Advertiser advertising department brought home two third-place awards from the Minnesota Newspaper Association's Better Newspaper Contest. Awards were announced Thursday at the association's annual convention.
The Chronicle/Advertiser's creative artist Jessica Bolland earned a third-place award in the self-promotion or house ad category for her ad, "Have You Heard the News?" According to the judges, "This is a fun design idea with a lot of potential to repeat the style and sprinkle in more enticing facts about your readership. It certainly stands out on the page and would capture the eye of prospective advertisers."
The Chronicle/Advertiser also received a third-place award in the Classified Ad Section category. "Header and sub-header setup is nice, easy to read," judges commented. "Classified ads designed will and have different looks, do not blend together. They are easy to differentiate. Good use of house ads."
The Chronicle competes in the circulation class of weeklies of 2,500 subscribers or more.
