City of Brownton approves agreement with SEH for topographical work
The Brownton City Council, in a special session Tuesday, June 21, signed a supplemental agreement with Short Elliott Hendrickson (SEH) to conduct a topographical survey in preparation of its comprehensive utility and street improvement project.
Justin Black of SEH said the survey will identify utilities, map the topography, and gather field data.
Black said the cost of the survey, estimated at $37,500, has already been included in the costs estimated for the project.
"You’re not authorizing any additional spending,” said Black.
Council Member Doug Block asked about the financial impact of the state Legislature’s failure to pass a bonding or transportation bill on the project. The city is relying heavily on funding from the USDA Rural Development program for the project. Those funds are funneled through the state.
