2018 Street and Utility
Improvement Project
Sealed Bids for the construction of the 2018 Street & Utility Improvement Project will be received by City of Brownton, at the office of the City Clerk, City of Brownton, 335 3rd Street South, Brownton, MN 55312, until 10:00 a.m. local time on February 28, 2018, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of constructing sanitary sewer main, water main, storm sewer, and street reconstruction.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Short Elliot Hendrickson Inc., 1390 Hwy 15 S., Suite 200, Hutchinson, MN 55350, 320-587-7341. Project Manager Chris Knutson, 507-237-8383, cknutson@sehinc.com. Prospective bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Bidding Documents also may be examined at the office of the City Clerk, City of Brownton, 335 3rd Street South, Brownton, MN 55312 on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The Bidding Documents may be viewed for no cost at http://www/sehinc.com by selecting the Project Bid Information link at the bottom of the page and the View Plans option from the menu at the top of the selected project page.

These documents may be downloaded by selecting this project from the PROJECT BID INFORMATION link and by entering eBidDoc™ Number 5500481 on the SEARCH PROJECTS page. Paper copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from Docunet Corp. located at 2435 Xenium Lane North, Plymouth, MN 55441(763-475-9600) for a fee of $150. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than indicated above.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. local time on February 21, 2018, at the Brownton Community Center, city of Brownton, 310 2nd Street North, Brownton, MN 55312. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the instructions to Bidders.
A contractor responding to these Bidding Documents must submit to the Owner a signed statement under oath by an owner or officer verifying compliance with each of the minimum criteria in Minnesota Statutes, section 16C.285, subdivision 3.
The work shall be subject to minimum wages and labor standards in accordance with the State of Minnesota.
Bids shall be directed to the City Clerk, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper, “BID FOR 2018 STREET & UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.”
The City of Brownton reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interests of the City of Brownton.
