City council begins planning for more street work next year
After two years of street repairs related to storm water management, the Glencoe City Council is looking to improve deteriorating streets next summer.
Monday, Nov. 18, the city council voted to begin a series of street overlay and resurfacing work on a series of streets next year. The project will be funded by budgeted tax dollars and assessments to benefiting properties. The streets eyed for improvements include:
• Abbott and Baldwin avenues horseshoe north of East 11th Street,
• Vinton Avenue, from Ninth to 10th streets,
• East 12th Street, from North Greeley to North Hennepin avenues,
• Elliott Avenue, from East 10th Avenue to the railroad tracks,
• East 11th Street, from North Elliott Avenue to North Ford Avenue,
• North Greeley Avenue, from the railroad tracks to East 13th Street,
• East 16th Street, from North Judd to North Knight avenues, and
• East 16th Street, from North Louden to North McLeod Avenue
