City planning to look at future sidewalk, curb fixes
If the city wants to continue to qualify for state and/or federal funding for some street repairs, it just might need to increase its compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Monday, the Glencoe City Council scheduled a public hearing for Monday, Nov. 2, 7:05 p.m., to take public comment on its ADA transition plan. The city is currently taking comment on its ADA Transition Plan. The plan is available on the city’s website. The public comment period on the plan closes Nov. 13. Revisions to the plan are due by Nov. 30. The city council is scheduled to approve the plan at its Dec. 7 meeting.
The city needs to have a transition plan in place to receive federal funds for improving East 10th Street from North Hennepin Avenue to Morningside Drive. Federal funding is covering about $1 million – 64 percent – of the project’s 1.56 million cost.
