County to acquire Jungclaus property for $2.1 million

The McLeod County Board of Commissioners breezed through their agenda yesterday, Sept. 4. The board closed its meeting for discussion, and when it reconvened in an open session, decided to go ahead with the purchase of the Jungclaus Implement dealership and surrounding properties for just over $2.4 million.
Before the closed-door portion of the meeting, the board approved the payment of the county bills, approved a request from the sheriff’s office for three new squad cars and tabled a request to include LegalShield Business Solutions Group as a part of the county’s benefit enrollment plan.
After the board re-opened the meeting, it decided to approve the drafting of a purchase agreement for the Jungclaus Implement dealership for $2.1 million. The commissioners also approved the purchase of the surrounding properties at $357,000, bringing the total to $2.457 million.
Before the closed-door meeting, the board moved quickly to approve the payment of the bills, which totaled $83,920.79. The most significant portion ($80,495.79) was designated for the final payment to Scott Construction out of Lake Delton, Wisconsin for county-wide seal coat and pavement marking projects.
