County applies for bridge funding

McLeod County is applying for state bridge bond funding for three bridges, including a $1 million project on Hamlet Avenue in Glencoe Township.
The County Board approved a resolution applying for the funds at its Tuesday, Feb. 2, meeting.
According to McLeod County Highway Engineer John Brunkhorst, the county is applying for township bridge funds for the Hamlet Avenue project which, if approved, will likely be constructed in 2017. Of the estimated $1 million cost, $980,000 would come from state bonding, while $20,000 will be the township’s local share.
In addition, the county is applying for funding for an $800,000 project on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 11 in Rich Valley Township, and a $130,000 project on CSAH 24, also in Rich Valley Township. Both of those are county-owned bridges.
