County board addresses Sheriff Rehmann’s use of county property
Complaints regarding McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehmann’s use of county property for personal use have been addressed by the county board.
At Tuesday’s, May 19, county board meeting County Administrator Shelia Murphy informed commissioners and the public.
The recent complaints stemmed from photos on social media of Rehmann attending a political protest at the governor’s residence in St. Paul April 16. The photos showed the sheriff wearing his uniform and possibly being in a county issued vehicle.
Minnesota Statute 387.29, Subdivision 2 states, “The board of county commissioners, by resolution, may furnish to the sheriff of the county such necessary motor vehicles and supplies therefor as are needed to carry out the duties of office.”
