County extends deadline on choosing recycling carts
McLeod County Solid Waste has extended the deadline for choosing a size for a single-sort recycling cart, according to an e-mail from Sarah Young, solid waste coordinator. Residents within the communities in McLeod County should have received an information mailing regarding the county's planned switch to single-sort recycling from five-sort, and a response card to indicate what size recycling cart resident would like.
However, Young indicated, some of the letters are being received by residents after last Friday's deadline, prompting the county to extend it to this Friday.
“The deadline to respond to the recycling letters has been extended to Friday, Feb. 20. If you live in city limits, within McLeod County, you have until the 20th to respond if you need a smaller recycling cart. Please use the e-mail address and phone number enclosed in that letter to respond by Feb. 20. Thank you from all of us at McLeod County Solid Waste," Young wrote in her e-mail.
