County Roads 15, 3 projects begin Monday

Road reconstruction projects on County Road 15 (Falcon Avenue) between County Road 22 and State Highway 7, and two segments of County Road 3 (120th and 122nd Streets) between County Road 1 and Carver County are scheduled to begin Monday, June 18.
Mathiowetz Construction of Sleepy Eye was awarded the $11.96 million project, which is funded with state aid and county money.
The roads will be closed to through traffic; there will be no posted detours in place. Motorists are advised to use County Roads 1 and 2 as an alternative to County Road 15 and Highway 212 in lieu of County Road 3.
The projects will be done in two phases. This summer’s work is expected to last into October and includes primarily pavement removal, culvert replacements, earthwork, and turf establishment. The final concrete surfacing will take place in 2019.
