Cross-Country teams speeding towards the finish line

The Glencoe-Silver Lake boys' and girls' cross-country teams finished ninth and 13th, respectively, in their competitions at the Litchfield Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Austin Schroepfer led the Panther boys with a 10th-place finish of the 5,000-meter course in a time of 16 minutes, 50.38 seconds, with Tony Fischer placing 17th in 17:21.40.

Also accounting in the Panthers' team score of 206 points were: Ethan Knudten, who took 47th in 18:00.00; Oscar Pena, who placed 63rd in 18:18.90; Zak Herout, who was 69th in 18:27.02.

Jakob Rusten took 82nd in 18:39.60, while Alex Haflund placed 110th in 19:58.54.

Leading the GSL girls to 316 points was Malayh Metcalf, who took 19th in the team competition with a time of 20:10.04 over 5,000 meters.
