Dairy Association hosts banquet, coronation

The McLeod County Dairy Association’s 64th spring banquet and dairy princess coronation was held April 2  at the Glencoe City Center.
The new 2017-2018 McLeod County Dairy Princess is Sierra Swanson, daughter of David and Kari Swanson of Hutchinson.
Swanson can attend the May training seminar to compete to become a Princess Kay finalist. The training seminar and Princess Kay candidate selection is May 19-21 at St. Benedict College, St Joseph.
The Butter Knife Award went to Unhinged Pizza of Glencoe. The Friend of Dairy award went to the Krienke familes, Roger and Kathy and Kraig and Rachelle of Lester Prairie.
The Dairy Farm Woman of the Year Award went to Jackie Rickeman of Hutchinson.
The new Dairy Ambassadors for 2017-2018 are Alexis Kubista, daughter of Tabatha and Raymond Kubista of Lester Prairie; Emma Friauf daughter of Wayne and Teri Friauf of Glencoe; Kiley Lickfelt, daughter of Trudy and Ryan Lickfelt of Hutchinson; Mckenzie Swanson, daughter of David and Kari Swanson of Hutchinson; Elizabeth Krienke, daughter of Kraig and Rachelle Krienke of Lester Prairie; and Breanna and Allison Wright, daughters of Paul and Heather Wright of Hutchinson.
A STAR Ambassador for 2016-2017 was chosen; Alexis Kubista received that honor.
