Dale Anthony Smith, 55, of Hamburg

Dale Anthony Smith, 55, of Hamburg passed away Monday, Sept. 10. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Sept. 21, 11 a.m., at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, with interment at a later date.
Rev. Anthony Stubeda officiated the ceremony.
Denise Lueders, Theresa Kuester, Patti Bulau, Paige Kosek, and Sue Mielke were the musicians. “ Here I Am Lord,” “ Hosea,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Fly Like a Bird,” “Hail Mary, Gentle Women,” and “ Be Not Afraid” were the musical selections.
Wyatt Smith and Austin Smith were the urn-bearers.
Dale Anthony Smith was born May 30, 1963, in Brainerd. He was the son of Vernon and Irene (Landwehr) Smith. Mr. Smith was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. He attended Central High School in Norwood Young America, and graduated in 1981. He furthered his education by attending Hutchinson Vo-Tech. in Hutchinson, receiving a degree in dairy herd management.
Sept. 12, 1987, Mr. Smith was united in marriage to Lisa Menden in Shakopee. He and Lisa made their home in Hamburg. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Wyatt and Austin. Dale and Lisa shared almost 31 years of marriage.
Mr. Smith was a lifelong dairy farmer and had a great passion for Jersey cattle. He was an active member of the Minnesota Jersey Cattle Association, where he served as the state president for many years. Mr. Smith enjoyed traveling, gardening and landscaping alongside Lisa. Family was a top priority and he enjoyed attending his boys’ sporting events. His love of family and friends was apparent in his daily activities. Dale’s family mantra was “We Are a Team!” Mr. Smith also had a great love and appreciation for the outdoors.
He was a faithful member of Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe. Mr. Smith was a very spiritual man of strong faith. He passed away on Monday, Sept. 10, at the age of 55. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Blessed be his memory.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Lisa Smith of Hamburg; sons, Wyatt Smith and Austin Smith of Hamburg; father, Vernon Smith of Norwood Young America; sister, Anna Marie Schoeppner and her husband, John, of Eden Prairie; sister-in-law, Mary Thielen and her husband, Rick, of Elburn, Ill.; brother-in-law, Mike Menden of Eden Prairie; nephews and niece, David, Jonathon and Katie Thielen, Ryan and Brent Alling; other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Smith; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Helen Menden; grandparents, Paul and Eulalia Landwehr, Charles and Hilda Smith; brother-in-law, Paul Menden.
