Dale Casper Roth, 85, of Hutchinson

Dale Roth, 85, of Hutchinson, formerly of Plato, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at his home at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson.
 
Graveside services were held Thursday, Jan. 21, at St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery in Plato with the Rev. Joseph Clay officiating.
 
Dale Casper Roth was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Plato, the son of Harry and Hilda (Klancke) Roth. He was baptized as an infant on March 9, 1930, by the Rev. Ott Eyrich, and was confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 2, 1944, by the Rev. Bunge, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato. He received his education in Plato and Glencoe, and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School class of 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
 
Mr. Roth was a lifelong resident of Plato. He first worked at the Plato Meat Market, and when the bid was open for the postmaster position in Plato, he applied and got the job. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato.
 
Mr. Roth was a man of few words but made many travels, having visited places around the world. He enjoyed nature and golfing at the Glencoe Country Club.
 
He is survived by his twin brother, Gale Roth of Glencoe; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hilda Roth; sisters and their husbands, Hazel and Leo Thomes, Doris and Flint Litzau and Vivian and Wally Mielke; and sister-in-law, DeVelda Roth.
