Darwin man killed in collision with planter

A Darwin man was killed when his vehicle collided with a farm implement on Highway 15 near 180th Street, between Hutchinson and Dassel, Saturday night at about 10:20 p.m.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Kevin Scott Erickson, 62, of Darwin, was northbound in a 2008 Ford Escape when it collided with the right rear side of a planter being pulled by a tractor, which had just pulled out from a field approach to travel north on Highway 15. The tractor was driven by Peter Elvin Peterson, 56, of Dassel. Peterson was not injured.
According to the state patrol, Erickson was wearing his seat belt.
Assisting at the accident were the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office and the Dassel Fire Department.
