David M. Latzig, 65, of New Germany

David Latzig
David M. Latzig, 65, of New Germany, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
 
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 5, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with the Rev. LeRoy LaPlant officiating.
Casket bearers were Dwaine Zebell, Bruce Kohls, Matt Wosmek, Paul Krueger, Andy Lewis and Marlin Schroeder.
 
Interment was in the St. Mark Lutheran Church cemetery in New Germany.
 
David Latzig was born June 30, 1950, in Watertown, the son of Melvin and Elaine (Zebell) Latzig. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany. On April 6, 1974, he was united in marriage to Mary Weber at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake by the Rev. Gerhard Michael.
 
Mr. Latzig was a loving and caring man, helping out family and friends whenever they needed him. He especially liked being with his children and grandchildren. He was very active at St. Mark Lutheran Church, helping out on a regular basis. He enjoyed farming, western movies, trains, reading maps and atlases and going on trips. His favorite was traveling to Duluth.
 
He is survived by his loving family: daughters, Ranee (Paul) Krueger of Glencoe, Rita Everhart and Matt Wosmek of Silver Lake and Rachel Latzig and Andy Lewis of Glencoe; grandchildren, Isaac Krueger, Malcom Everhart, Jackson Everhart and Mary Roberts; mother, Elaine Latzig of Winsted; sister, Diane (Gary) Hardel of Chaska; mother-in-law, Margaret Weber of Howard Lake; brother-in-law, DuWayne Latzig of Winsted; nieces, Kathy (Josh) Stillwell and Stephanie (Travis) Krautkremer; other relatives and friends.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; father, Melvin Latzig; father-in-law, August Weber; and sister-in-law, Sherry Latzig.
 
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
