Delores Evelyn Schrupp, 91, of NYA

Delores Evelyn (Koerschen) (Winter) Schrupp, 91, of Norwood Young America, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 20, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America with the Rev. Eric Hutchison officiating. Rita Luecke was the organist. Congregational hymns were “I’m But a Stranger Here,” “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” and “Jesus, Lead Thou On.”
Casket bearers were Richard Neubarth, Jeff Schrupp, Michael Bleichner, Tom Ranzau, Eric Rannow and Brett Beneke. Interment was in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Helen Township, rural Glencoe.
Delores Evelyn (Koerschen) (Winter) Schrupp was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Carver County, the daughter of John and Frieda (Will) Koerschen. She was baptized as an infant Oct. 1, 1925, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth April 1, 1939, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America. She received her education through the eighth grade.
On Oct. 21, 1954, she was united in marriage to Alvin Winter. The couple made their home in Young America. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, John and Bruce. The couple shared over 18 years of marriage before Mr. Winter’s death on Jan. 20, 1973. On April 22, 1977, she was united in marriage to Donald Schrupp. They made their home in Young America, and shared over seven years of marriage before Mr. Schrupp died on Jan. 28, 1985.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Schrupp worked as a waitress at Charlie’s Café in Glencoe, Mueller’s Café in Young America, Breyer’s Café in Glencoe, and the Dairy Queen in Norwood Young America. She also cleaned at Ridgeview Clinic in Waconia. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, where she was a member of the Lutheran Women Missionary League (LWML). She also was a member of the Young America VFW Auxiliary Post 1783 and volunteered for many years at Stiftungfest.
She enjoyed working, cooking, fishing, going on trips and her monthly card parties. She also treasured the time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, John Winter of Glencoe and Bruce Winter of Rochester; stepchildren, Ronald (Sue) Schrupp and Diane Bleichner; former daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Winter of Glencoe; sister-in-law, Mae Koerschen of Norwood Young America; nieces and nephews, Paula (Brad) Ketterin and Mark (Denise) Guderian; grandchildren, Jennifer Winter (fiancé Eric Rannow), Bryan Winter (friend Courtney Klimstra), Jeff (Joy) Schrupp, Julie (Jason) Ponciano, Michael Bleichner (friend Sue Tran) and David (Deb) Bleichner; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Bargmann, Nick Eggersgluess, Megan Schrupp, Abby Schrupp, Jackson Schrupp, Emily Schrupp, Olive Schrupp, Jonathon Ponciano, Ryan Bleichner and Andraya Klimstra; two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frieda Koerschen; husbands, Alvin Winter and Donald Schrupp; brother, John Koerschen; sister and brother-in-law, Melva and Roy Guderian; and son-in-law, Clarence “Butch” Bleichner.
