Delphine Lindeman, 92, of Brownton

Delphine Lindeman

Delphine Delores Lindeman, 92, of Brownton, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton with the Rev. Andrew Hermodson-Olsen officiating. Bonnie Westmiller was the organist. Andrew and Rosine Hermodson-Olsen performed “It is Well With My Soul.” Congregational hymns were “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” “Abide With Me” and “Amazing Grace.”
Honorary casket bearers were Tamara Bach, Melissa Vleim, Riley Vleim, Ryan Bach, Joseph Bach, Chauncy Skolberg, Lanie Skolberg, Jordan Lindeman, Dash Lindeman, Amelia Lindeman, Parker Lindeman and McKenna Lindeman. Casket bearers were Trevor Bach, Chad Skolberg, Todd Lindeman, Reese Lindeman, Blake Lindeman, Kelly Lindeman and Casey Lindeman.
Interment was in the Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Delphine Delores (Bluhm) Lindeman was born Feb. 1, 1925, on her family’s farm near Brownton, where her son currently lives. She was the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth (Miklas) Bluhm. She was baptized and confirmed at St. George Church in Glencoe. She received her education at District 55 country school and graduated with the Brownton High School class of 1942.
On May 5, 1943, she was united in marriage to William Lindeman at St. George Church in Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Deborah, Sandra and Ronald. The couple made their home in rural Brownton. They farmed on several farms around Brownton and one near Stewart before buying their farm near Brownton. They developed an addition outside of Brownton and then also built a new home for themselves. They shared 58 years of marriage before Mr. Lindeman’s death on July 25, 2001. After her husband’s death, Mrs. Lindeman remained living in their home until 31⁄2 years ago, when she purchased a condo in Greencastle in Hutchinson.
Mrs. Lindeman was a wonderful wife and mother and enjoyed working on the farm with her husband and raising their three children. She worked seasonally at Brownton Produce for seven years and Green Giant for five years. She retired from full-time employment with 3M after 12 years. She was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton. She also was a member of the Mesa American Legion Auxiliary Unit 26 for 30 years. She donated blood her whole life; she donated a total of 48 pints of blood to the American Red Cross.
She enjoyed gardening, dancing, baking and was an avid reader. Delphine and Bill enjoyed traveling and wintered in Mesa, Arizona, for 35 years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Bach of Hutchinson, Sandra (Ken) Skolberg-Aaberg of Glencoe and Ronald (Monica) Lindeman of Brownton; grandchildren, Trevor Bach, Tamera Bach, Melissa (Dustin) Vleim, Chad Skolberg (special friend Janel Zanoth), Todd (Lisa) Lindeman, Reese Lindeman, Blake (Bridget) Lindeman, Kelly Lindeman and Casey Lindeman; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Joe Bach, Brody and Riley Vliem, Chauncy and Lanie Skolberg, Jordan and Dash Lindeman, Amelia and Park Lindeman and McKenna Lindeman; brother, Wayne Bluhm of Glencoe; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Elsie Bluhm; husband, William Lindeman; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Gretchen Bluhm; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Bluhm and Hilda (Gerhart) Harbarth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ted and Adeline Lindeman and Clarence and Clara Lindeman; cousin, Esther Bluhm-Karg (whom her parents raised from the age of 9); and son-in-law, David Bach.
Arrangements were with the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
