Dennis L. Grams, 70, of Gaylord

Dennis Grams, 70, of Gaylord, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25, at 1 p.m., at American Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with interment in the Gaylord City Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, April 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the American Lutheran Church in Gaylord, and will continue Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
The Rev. Paul Kratzke will officiate at the service, and Cindy Grams will offer a eulogy. Special music will be by Terry Pilacinski on the concertina. Congregational hymns will be “In the Garden,” “Jesus Loves Me,” “Children of the Heavenly Father” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”
Honorary casket bearers are Kali Messner, Quill Crandall, Maty Messner, Makenna Crandall, Isaac Grams, Brynn Crandall, Jada Messner and Lacy Messner. The urn bearer is Spencer Haggenmiller.
Dennis LuVerne Grams was born June 27, 1944, in New Ulm to Raymond and B. Lorraine (Sorbe) Grams. He was baptized on July 9, 1944, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, and was confirmed on May 25, 1958, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He received his education at Gaylord Public School.
On Jan. 29, 1967, he was united in marriage to Gloriann Fenske. Their marriage was blessed with five children.
Mr. Grams was employed at Easland Alfalfa Company, Don Mueller Well Drilling, Sommers Grain and Feed and Michael Foods.
He was a charter member of American Lutheran Church in Gaylord.
Mr. Grams enjoyed listening to polka music and everything about farming — the equipment, animals, crops and weather. If you had a question about farming, he was the man to go to. He had a way of explaining everything so that you could understand, and would not stop explaining until he was sure that you understood. He also enjoyed collecting and showing off his toy farm machinery collection, specifically his Allis Chalmers tractors.
He is survived by his children, Todd (Rachel) Grams of Long Lake, Tamara (Ricky) Pomplun of Gaylord, Timothy (Michele) Grams of Bloomington and Tina (Marc) Messner of Gaylord; grandsons, Spencer Haggenmiller of Arlington and Isaac Grams of Bloomington; granddaughters, Kali, Maty, Jada and Lacy Messner of Gaylord and Quinn, Makenna and Brynn Crandall of Long Lake; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken Grams (fiancée Jeanette) of Minnetonka, Steve (Judy) Grams of Hopkins, Lowell (Lois) Grams of Gaylord, Norm (Gayle) Grams of Winthrop, Wayne (Cindy) Grams of Gaylord and Mark (Debra) Grams of Gaylord; sister, Brenda Grams of Waconia; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Bill) Grams and IlaRae (Doug) Grams, both of Glencoe; 21 nephews, nieces and spouses/significant others; 34 great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lorraine Grams; infant son, Terrance Grams; brothers, Bill Grams and Doug Grams; and nephew, Daniel Grams.
