Diane Heil, 73, of Brownton, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at her home.
Memorial services were held Friday, Feb. 16, at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton with the Rev. Andrew Hermodson-Olsen officiating. Bev Wangerin was the organist. Soloist Rosine Hermodson-Olsen sang “How Great Thou Art.” Congregational hymns were “On Eagle’s Wings” and “Amazing Grace.”
Honorary urn bearers were Kaitlyn Kellerman and Kallamae Kellerman.
Diane Gale Heil was born June 18, 1944, in St. Cloud, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Dewar) Witcher. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School class of 1962.
She was blessed with two children, Dan and David.
Ms. Heil was employed in retail for several Hutchinson-area businesses. She enjoyed helping others and doing volunteer work for Allina Hospice Thrift Store and the Hutchinson food shelf. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton.
She enjoyed creative arts and crafts, cooking, tending to her flower gardens, feeding and watching birds, and going to auctions and garage sales. She also enjoyed spoiling her dogs. She loved spending time at and taking in all the beauty at her “Almosta Farm.” She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her significant other, Roger Lawson of Brownton; sons, Dan (Malissa) Kellerman of Hutchinson and David Kellerman of St. Cloud; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kallamae Kellerman of Hutchinson; siblings, Dayle Nolan of Minnetonka, Deb (Lonnie) Carrigan of Cokato and Gary Witcher of Mesa, Arizona; many other relatives and friends; and beloved dogs, Bear, Suzie and Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Witcher; sister-in-law, Irene Witcher; and stepmother, Dorothy Witcher.
