Diane Joy Norstrom, 76, of Brainerd

Diane Joy (Stenberg) Norstrom, 76, of Brainerd, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Essentia – St. Joseph’s Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m., at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd with the Rev. Justin Halbersma officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.
Diane Joy (Stenberg) Norstrom was born March 6, 1941, in Litchfield, to Bernard and Louise Stenberg. She grew up on a farm just outside of Biscay. She graduated from Glencoe High School in 1959 before continuing to Mankato State College to obtain her bachelor’s degree in home economics in 1964.
She married Doug Norstrom at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Biscay on Aug. 10, 1968.
She was an active member of the Sons of Norway and Park United Methodist Church, where she volunteered for various church activities. She enjoyed researching her family genealogy. If she wasn’t sewing or knitting, she could be found at the A to Z Yarn Shop.
She will be dearly missed by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Luke Norstrom of Hopkins and Eric (Sue) Norstrom of Brainerd; grandchildren, Amber (Kendall) Hartfiel, Megan (Joe) Messer and Daniel Vosika; and great-grandchildren, Beau, Taylor, Caiden, Kaeden, Reid, Aurelia, Natalie, Lexi, Tobi, Avery and Nolan.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Doug; son, Kirk; parents; and brother, Dennis Stenberg.
