Eleanor C. Baumann, 78, of NYA

Eleanor Baumann, 78, of Norwood Young America (NYA), died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Auburn Manor in Waconia.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m., at the Johnson Funeral Home, 141 E First St., in Waconia. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
Eleanor C. (Campa) Baumann was born May 6, 1936, in Gaylord, the daughter of Luz and Virginia (Viejo) Campa. She grew up and attended school in Winthrop. She was united in marriage to Anthony J. Baumann on Oct. 19, 1955, in Gibbon. The couple made their home in New Ulm, California and Glencoe before moving to NYA in 1964. Mrs. Baumann worked at Tonka Toys and retired from Fluoraware/Entegris after 25 years in quality control.
Mrs. Baumann enjoyed reading, crocheting, listening to classic country and Mexican music, watching movies and home shopping networks. She spent countless hours tending to her plants and flowers. She was always up for a good conversation and debate. When she was younger, she enjoyed playing softball. She remained a sports fan and especially enjoyed watching basketball. She will be remembered for her love of family and how she cherished the time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving family, including her children, Tony (Wanda) Baumann of Glencoe, Tom (Pati) Baumann of Brooklyn Park, and Darcie (Kris) Baumann of Waconia; grandchildren, Asia Baumann, Alicia (Paul) Jensen, Linda Baumann, Erica Baumann, Alexa Fern, Jasmin Bigaouette, Jason Fern, Reid Baumann-Fern, T.J. Baumann-Fern and Jacob Baumann-Fern; great-grandchildren, Hunter Fern, Jaeleigh Fern and Mckaela Jensen; sisters and brothers, Paula Bauman of St. Paul, Frank Campa of California, Nick (Myrtle) Campa of Mankato, Luz (Sandra) Campa of Buffalo, Victoria Darnell of Mayer, Richard Campa of Crystal, David (Sue) Campa of Crystal, Dahlia (Dan) Clifton of Brooklyn Park, Christopher (Donna) Campa of Brooklyn Park, Christina (Randy) Zehnder of Waconia, Michael (Connie) Campa of Hutchinson and Monica (Michael) Christian of Paynesville; special friends, BJ Bielke, Todd Bigaouette and Darci Baumann-Fern; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luz and Virginia Campa; husband, Anthony Baumann; and a brother in infancy.
