Ella Meta Ide, 93, of Lester Prairie

Ella Meta (Dittmer) Ide, 93, of Lester Prairie, died Monday, April 27, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 1, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with the Rev. Travis Loeslie officiating. Nancy Buckentine was the organist. Congregational hymns were “Just As I Am,” “Amazing Grace,” “Let Me Be Thine Forever” and “Abide With Me.”
Casket bearers were Todd Ide, Kevin Mathews, Dean Schimek, Joshua Ide, Mike Stoltenow, Brian Otto, Jerad Lambert and Nick Ide.
Interment was in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lester Prairie.
Ella Meta (Dittmer) Ide was born March 25, 1922, in Arlington. She was the daughter of William and Emma (Bullert) Dittmer. She was baptized as an infant on April 16, 1922, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 5, 1936, both by the Rev. R. Heidmann at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. She attended school through the eighth grade at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Parochial School in Arlington.
On March 22, 1945, she was united in marriage to Walter Ide by the Rev. John Bradtke at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. The couple made their home on the Ide family farm in Bergen Township, Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Wallace, Sandra, Douglas and Michael. The couple shared over 56 years of marriage until Mr. Ide’s death on June 20, 2001.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Ide helped her husband on the family farm. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
She enjoyed helping on the farm, quilting, cooking, baking, and gardening, especially her irises. She cherished the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Wallace (Susan) Ide of Lester Prairie, Sandra Otto of Winsted, Douglas (Bridget) Ide of Hutchinson, and Michael Ide of Lester Prairie; 10 grandchildren, Tammy (Kevin) Mathews of Glencoe,  Todd Ide (special friend, Cheryl) of Geneva, Tricia (Andrew) Gueningsman of Winsted, Teresa (Dean) Schimek of Easton, Brian (Jodi) Otto of Milladore, Wis., Christine (Mike) Stoltenow of Green Field, Andrew (Georgia) Ide of Washington, Nick (Rachel) Ide of Vermont, Joshua (Katie) Ide of Bloomington, and Sarah (Jerad) Lambert of Mahtowa; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Emma Dittmer; husband, Walter Ide; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Albert (Anna) Dittmer, Esther (Arnold) Mueller, Elmer (Elva) Dittmer, Verna (Earl) Ruehling, and Harvey (Hattie) Dittmer; and sisters-in-law and their husbands, Malinda (Elmer) Klaustermeier, Rosella (Otto) Bahr and Orvilla (Ferdinand) Luehrs.
