Exsted proposes creation of city comp. plan

A member of the Glencoe Planning Commission suggested the city should create a comprehensive plan to guide its growth and ongoing development in the short term and for years to come. The commission will consider the idea at an upcoming meeting.
Commissioner Lynn Exsted suggested the city consider creating a comprehensive plan during the final minutes of Thursday’s, April 18, planning commission meeting. Cities in metro area counties are required to have one approved through the Metropolitan Council and update it every 10 years. Exsted said the state encourages cities outside the metro area to create and utilize comprehensive plan to direct and manage development.
“Plato has one,” Exsted said.
A comprehensive plan is an all-encompassing document guiding the short- and long-term growth and ongoing development of a community.
