First Lutheran students raise $10,400

Students at First Evangelical Lutheran School raised over $10,400 in the annual nonpublic school marathon.
Students may have well been motivated by a couple of challenges — they were told if they raised over $5,000 they would get a pool and pizza party; if they raised over $7,000, fifth-grade teacher Luke Dahl and Principal Dean Scheele would have their heads shaved; and, if they raised over $9,000, Scheele would jump out of a plane.
The head shaving took place Oct. 23, and the pool party is set for Nov. 21. Scheele will go sky diving in April or May, when the weather is acceptable.
The top student solicitor was Grace Brickzen, who raised over $1,500 in pledges. Other top solicitors were Kyle Hagan, Kira Lewin, Marek Lewin, Kyle Pokornowski, Owen Schauer and Ivanna Schultz.
