Fitzgerald announces write-in candidacy
Local family farmer, licensed marriage and family therapist, and Presbyterian minister Ane Fitzgerald has announced her write-in candidacy for the McLeod County Commissioner seat in District 4.
Fitzgerald works for Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson as a Presbyterian chaplain and is a workplace advocate for 3M Hutchinson employees. She and her husband Joe also raise organic corn and soybeans on their family farm in Sumter Township.
“I am committed to bringing professionalism and common sense to local government. As a farmer and mental health professional, I know how county government affects our families on the front lines,” Fitzgerald said. “At my core is a Christian identity. My faith has translated into a vocation of serving and caring for people. Working as a commissioner will be an extension of that vocation.”
