Florence Mary Rannow, 91, of Winsted, formerly of Silver Lake, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Nov. 30, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with the Rev. Paul Schumacher officiating.
Florence Rannow was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Winsted Township, the daughter of Louis and Victoria (White) Sherman. She went to the Holy Trinity Grace School and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1942.
On Nov. 14, 1944, Florence Sherman and George Rannow were united in marriage at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Winsted. They lived on a farm in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with three children, Bruce, Nancy and Lori. 
Mrs. Rannow was formerly employed at Sherman Station and Tonka Toys for many years. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, polka dancing and was famous for her good cooking.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Rannow, Nancy Magourik and Lori Sheffield (David Irby); grandchildren, Lyle Hoff, Carrie Hoff, Joseph Sheffield, Jacquelyn Sheffield, Crystal Sheffield, Brittiany Hoff and Benjamin Hoff; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Hoff, Lillie Sheffield and Katherine Irby; sister, Marietta Neumann; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Rannow, who died Feb. 17, 1990; parents, Louis and Victoria Sherman; grandson, David Sheffield; sisters, Mildred (Maurice) Waldoch and Dolores Sherman; brothers, Arthur Sherman, Philip Sherman and Eugene (Lenore) Sherman; parents-in-law, Frank and Katherine Rannow; and brothers-in-law, David (Helen) Rannow and Marvin Neumann Sr.
The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake served the family.
