Frank A. Forcier, 88, of Hutchinson

Frank A. Forcier, 88, of Hutchinson, formerly of Stewart, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Aug. 8, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart with the Rev. Jerry Meidl officiating and The Basics provided the music.
Honorary casket bearers were Jessica Olson, Melissa Goldstein, Megan Forcier, Bailey Forcier, Emily Beauford, Raina Forcier and Aidanne Forcier. Casket bearers were Paul Forcier, Phillip Forcier, Edward Forcier, Steve Kuttner, Larry Maiers and Matt Forcier. Interment was in the church cemetery with military honors by the Degree-Fleisch American Legion Post 125.
Frank Ambrose Forcier was born July 1, 1929, in Grafton Township, Sibley County, to Edward and Cecilia (Schilling) Forcier. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith, both at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart. He received his education at St. Boniface Catholic School and the GI School in the Army.
He entered active military service on May 13, 1952, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received the Occupational Medal/National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on April 27, 1954.
On March 31, 1959, he was united in marriage to Georgia Richards at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Collins Township, McLeod County, for 25 years. Mr. Forcier drove a ready-mix truck for Rockite in Hutchinson, retiring in August 1994. He was a farmer at heart and loved to share stories of his early days farming with teams of horses, steam engines and threshing machines. Their marriage was blessed with six children, and the couple shared 58 years of marriage.
Mr. Forcier was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart and was a 53-year member of the Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the American Legion for 62 years, the VFW, DAV and a township board member. He was a founding member of the McLeod County demo derby and a member of the Stewart Ice Racing Club.
He enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards, gardening and listening to old-time music. He enjoyed camping at Codgers Cove RV Park and watching his kids play sports at Stewart High School. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Forcier of Hutchinson; children, Carmen (Maury) Forcier-McNeil of Glencoe, Phillip “Butch” (Sue) Forcier of Hutchinson, Carolyn Beauford of St. Paul, Amy Jo Forcier (fiancé Mark Zaspel) of Hutchinson and Frank “Fritz” (Allison) Forcier Jr. of Waconia; grandchildren, Jessica (Randy) Olson, Melissa (Louis) Goldstein, Matthew (Chrissy), Megan, Bailey, Emily Beauford, Raina and Aidanne; great-grandchildren, Aspen, Jack, Olive, Willow, Reagan, Eleanor and Maxwell; daughter-in-law, Judy Forcier of Victoria; sister Theresa (Ronnie) Krajniak of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sisters-in-law, Marlene Fransen of Owatonna and Marianna Forcier of New Orleans, Louisiana; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Cecelia Forcier; son, Tim Forcier; sisters, Sister Cecilia Forcier, Frances Kuttner and Rita Maiers; and brothers, Victor, Oliver, John “Jack”, Oscar and George Forcier.
