Garden City man killed, Winsted man injured in accident

A Garden City man was killed and a Winsted man injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 169 in Faribault County Wednesday, July 22.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Daniel T. Hamann, 58, of Winsted, was driving southbound on Highway 169 in a 1993 Freightliner semi when his vehicle was broadsided by a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Keith Wilds, 32, of Garden City, which was westbound on 240th Street.
Both drivers were taken by ambulance to the Blue Earth Hospital in Blue Earth, where Wilds was pronounced dead and Hamann was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Both vehicles were considered total losses, according to the State Patrol.
