Girls' CC wraps up season at sections
The Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ cross country team wrapped up its 2015 season with a 16th-place finish at the Section 2A meet in Montgomery on Thrusday, Nov. 29.
Eighth-grader Gia Venier led the youthful Panthers in their second running of the season on the 5,000-meter course at Montgomery Golf Course, placing 64th overall in a time of 22 minutes, 40.5 seconds.
Following Venier in short order was seventh-grader Majkya Metcalf, who took 65th in 22:46. 1.
Eighth-grader Megan Siewert took 79th in 22:36.9, with freshman Kayla Deyonge in 88th with a 23:57.2 and sophomore Tarin Michaelis in 103rd at 24:26.7.
Also running for GSL were junior Robin Swift (116th in 25:49.3) and freshman Maren Warner (130th in 28:56.0).
The Panthers finished with 399 points, two behind 15th-place Blue Earth Area and 15 ahead of 17th-place United South Central.
