Glencoe City Council begins talks on truck replacement
Expecting a truck used to haul bio-solids from the city’s wastewater treatment plant might not pass an inspection, the Glencoe City Council began talks Monday on how to replace it Monday evening.
The focus of the talks was to determine how much the council wanted to spend. Besides doing nothing, the city council considered budget numbers ranging from $125,000 for a refurbished with an old 3,000-gallon steel tank, pump and hoist to $200,000 for a new truck with a new 4,000-gallon tank, pump and hoist. Money for the truck has been included in the city’s overall budget for several years, said Gary Schreifels, Glencoe director of Public Works for its water-wastewater facilities.
