Glencoe City yCouncil hires new employees
The Glencoe City Council hired Joshua Odden and Nicholas Larson as public works and parks department employees at its meeting Monday, Aug. 1.
One position replaces James Voigt, who was promoted to public works director. The second position was created using municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) funds.
Public Works Director Mike Drew reported the city received 14 applications. Of the applications, six were selected for interviews. Drew and James Voigt handled the hiring process.
Council Member Al Robeck voted against the hirings, stating in his opinion it was a conflict of interest hiring the son of the city administrator and that the positions could have been outsourced.
