Glencoe Holly Days events get under way on Thursday

Glencoe’s Holly Days activities start Thursday with “Taste of the Holidays” at Coborn’s in Glencoe, where participants can enjoy free, holiday-themed food.
On Friday, the first clue in the annual medallion hunt is released. The clues will be posted each Friday at 4 p.m. on the Glencoe Area Chamber of Commerce website, www.
GlencoeChamber.com, and on its Facebook page. The hunt is sponsored by the Crow River Sno Pro’s, Inc.
On Saturday, the Glencoe Library will host its annual children’s elf party starting at 10:30 a.m. Participants are asked to bring a new toy to support those in need.
The Jolly Old Elf, Santa Claus, will appear at Coborn’s on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5 p.m., to 8 p.m., at Coborn’s. There will be pictures with Santa, crafts and treats for the kids.
Also on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., will be “Toasting the Holidays” at Glencoe Wine & Spirits, with sampling of holiday beverages.
A third activity Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., is the annual tour of lights with free transportation by Trailblazer Transit.
Glencoe Light & Power is sponsoring its annual residential holiday lighting contest. Light & Power customers can sign up by calling the chamber at 320-864-3650. There will be cash prizes for first, second and third place.
Businesses also can have their storefront displays judged. All participating businesses will have their names put into a drawing for two $50 Glencoe Bucks prizes. Please call the chamber to register for the drawing.
