Glencoe man dies in 2-vehicle accident

Virgil Richter, 69, of Glencoe, died Monday, Dec. 25 in a two vehicle crash just southwest of Lester Prairie.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Virgil Richter was the driver of a 1994 Dodge Caravan. Dolores Ramirez de Juarez, 35, of Glencoe, was the driver of the second vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban.
All occupants of the Chevrolet Suburban, including Ramirez de Juarez, Salvador Juarez-Medina, 36, a 13-year-old child, a 10-year-old child, two 3-year-old children and a female infant, were transported to Glencoe Regional Health Services.
The occupants of the Dodge Caravan were trapped inside their vehicle and needed to be extricated. The passenger, Bonnie Richter, 63, of Glencoe was transported to Ridgeview Medial Center in Waconia. North Memorial Air Care transported Virgil Richter to the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale where he later died.
Assisting at the accident were the Lester Prairie Police Department, Lester Prairie Fire Department, Silver Lake Ambulance, Winsted Fire Department, Allina Ambulance, Ridgeview Ambulance and North Air Care.
The deputies cleared with reports and the crash is still under investigation.
