Glencoe man faces charges after allegedly shaking baby
Timothy Daniel Miller, 24, of Glencoe, is facing a felony charge of assault in the first degree – great bodily harm after allegedly shaking a 51⁄2-month-old child on Jan. 4.
According to a criminal complaint filed in McLeod County District Court, Glencoe police responded to a home on Baldwin Avenue at about 10 a.m. that day, where a baby was found to be non-responsive and breathing shallowly. Miller allegedly admitted to shaking the baby. Miller was the only caretaker in the house at the time.
The baby was examined at a Twin Cities hospital, where it was determined that it had a massive brain injury, according to the complaint.
If found guilty, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a $30,000 fine, or both.
