Good week for Panther track and field squads

The Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ and girls’ track and field teams got in their share of competition over the past week, also finding their share of success in meets are Watertown-Mayer and Foley.
The GSL girls earned their first victory of the season, doing so in resounding manner by scoring 200 points in a Wright County Conference quadrangular hosted by Watertown-Mayer on Tuesday, April 19.
It was a dominant performance, as the Panthers recorded 54 more points than their closest rival, Rockford, which finished second at 146 points.
The GSL boys claimed their second and third runner-up finishes of the season last week by finishing second at both Watertown-Mayer and Foley.
Mound Westonka was first at Watertown-Mayer, scoring 207 points to 159 for the Panthers. Eden Valley-Watkins/Kimball barely nicked the GSL for first place at Foley, claiming 121.4 points to the Panthers’ 120.5.
