Graduating songwriter, rapper looks forward to using his education at next level
He knows his music isn’t for everyone. Ethan Knudten is OK with the notion not everyone likes rap or the songs he creates.
His music has been a learning process so far, learning he expects to continue next fall as a freshman at the University of Minnesota. But first, Knudten and his classmates at Glencoe-Silver Lake High School have a date with their commencement Friday evening, May 31, 7 p.m., at the senior high school.
Knudten is likely the only member of GSL’s Class of 2019 who has recorded and published his music. He has published about 25 songs on the subscription music Spotify Premium and Apple Music. Knudten is paid “fractions of a penny” every time a paying subscriber to one of the services listens to his songs, he said.
