Grapplers seize second at Minnetonka

It was a week with a little bit of everything for the Glencoe-Silver Lake/Lester Prairie wrestling team.
The Panthers competed in a Wright County Conference dual meet with New London-Spicer on Tuesday, Jan. 6 that featured only seven matches due to illness and injuries in the GSL/LP lineup.
Tanner Chmielewski, Michael Meyer, Cody Rae, Aaron Donnay, Dalton Kosek, Dylan Melchert, Brandon Hernandez, Nick Brelje and Christopher Lemke were all missing from GSL/LP’s potential Jan. 6 lineup as the depleted Panthers fell 64-16 to the Wildcats in a meet that lasted just 40 minutes.
NLS won four of the seven contested matches by a score differential of 22-16. Picking up wins for GSL/LP were Brandon Richter at 145 pounds by fall in 33 seconds, Nate Tesch by fall at 152 in 1 minute, 24 seconds and Tristan Weber at 195 by a 16-3 major decision.
A scheduled appearance in a triangular meet at Rogers on Jan. 8 was cancelled due to the inclement weather and will not be made up.
